From Pasadena, California: The 130th Tournament of Roses

Something I take for granted living in Southern California is how close we are to many events. This morning was the 130th Tournament of Roses lovingly better known as the Rose Parade. The theme this year was “The Melody of Life,” in celebration of the music in our lives and was a beautiful and multicultural experience. There are several ‘regulars’ cities and organizations who create floats every year, such as South Pasadena, Burbank, Torrance, and the Cal Poly Universities, just to name a few. However, there are others who enter the parade to commemorate special events as well as bands who travel across the country and indeed the world for what is for many a once in a lifetime opportunity to march the five and a half miles down Colorado and Sierra Madre Boulevards in this historic parade.

I had the privilege of being there this morning. So as ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
