The Rijksmuseum is a world-famous national museum devoted to the art and culture of the Netherlands. Over 8000 objects are on display in the museum, with more than 2000 paintings from the Dutch Golden Age, with works from famed Dutch masters such as Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt van Rijn, and Jan Steen. On our full day in Amsterdam, we headed to the Rijksmuseum to get some culture and appreciate Dutch art and history.
Located in central Paris, the Musée du Louvre is the world's most visited museum of art. With priceless works of art- from da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa' to Canova's 'Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss' and so much more- there is much to explore and appreciate in France's national museum of art.
On our first full day in The Hague, we visited Mauritshuis, which houses the Royal Cabinet of Paintings. On display are over 800 works from the Dutch Golden Age of the seventeenth century. We also find a relic that sparks many happy memories from primary school days: Miffy, who is also known as Nijntje.
