Palomar Mountain State Park
As part of a school field trip, we hiked to Palomar Mountain State Park in San Diego County. No cranky campers here!
Later Gators: Long Pine Key and the Visitor Center
At the end of the summer, I revisited Everglades National Park. On this visit, the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center was now open, and I was able to spend some time watching a September Florida thunderstorm from the outside porch overlooking a manmade pond and the river of grass. I also revisited the Anhinga and Gumbo Limbo Trails and trekked over to the Long Pine Trail.
Great California Road Trips: Fun on the U.S. 395
This is the first post dedicated to adventures along U.S. 395. On this trip, Sami and I visited the Alabama Hills, Whitney Portal, and Mono Lake. There is much to explore on this highway that connects California to the Canadian border.
