Peak 3 of our Six Pack of Peaks challenge was Strawberry Peak in the San Gabriel Mountains. The trail starts off Angeles Crest Highway across from the Red Box Picnic Area, and the hike is generally considered challenging. On a cloudy May gray day, I hiked up the trail from Bailey Canyon in Sierra Madre to Jones Peak, a low peak at the front of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Table Rock Dam in the Ozarks of Missouri provides plenty of recreation opportunities as well as hydroelectric power generation. We also visited Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery, part of the Missouri Department of Conservation, which provides trout management for Lake Taneycomo and other areas in Missouri.
Owen the pup loved his hiking adventure on a popular, local five-mile trail loop in Claremont Hills Wilderness Park.
