There are many opportunities for fun and adventure along the Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway, a 61-mile stretch of California Routes 4 and 89 traversing the mighty Sierra Nevada Mountains. This post explores several points of interest along this spectacular drive, including Ebbetts Peak, a small portion of the famed Pacific Crest Trail, and alpine lakes. Stanislaus National Forest

The Stanislaus National Forest is a pretty place to recreate, boasting 898000 acres and many opportunities for camping, hiking, and exploring. We stayed in a national forest campground along the middle fork of the Tuolumne River not far from the Hetch Hetchy entrance station to Yosemite National Park, and about a 45 minute drive to Yosemite Valley.
